Written in 1931 and associated with an old Gaelic tune, "Morning" is Eleanor Farjeon's most widely published work. However, it wasn't until Cat Stevens released his version in 1971 that the song became an international hit. In my arrangement, the melody of the three verses are stated, in turn, first by a French horn and female choir voices, next by a clarinet and male choir voices, and lastly by the French horn and clarinet together, along with both female and male choir voices. The bridge that ties each of the verses together is carried by a pipe organ accompanied by tubular bells.
