This hymn focuses on the crucifixion of God's Son. Each line covers a different aspect of the crucifixion, ending in the resurrection. In my arrangement, each stanza is carried by a different grouping of instruments, including an English horn, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, piccolo, flute, harpsichord, and organ. Choir voices, a digital bass, and tubular bells provide the background for the haunting melody.
