This piece was composed by me in 1992 for solo organ. Shortly after I had composed it, I asked the music director at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston to listen to a taped recording of it. His comment was, "You really ought to do something with this." I eventually did, but not until some 20 years later, when I arranged the piece for organ, strings, brass, and choir.
