Witten in 1964 by Ray Davies, the Kinks' vocalist and main songwriter, "Got Me" was the group's third single, reaching number one in the UK and remaining there for two weeks. The song also became the group's breakthrough hit in the U.S., establishing them as one of the top British Invasion acts. In my arrangement, the Kinks' "wall-of-sound," in-your-face arrangement is replaced by a more orchestral approach. The driving forces behind my arrangement are a pipe organ, choir voices, cello, violin, and trumpets, all underscored by the skilled percussion loops of drummer Siggi Baldursson.
