I first heard this song on Neil Young's "Heart Of Gold" concert DVD. During the song's introduction, Young said he thought it was "the most beautiful song I've ever heard in my life." My intent, here, was to capture the loneliness and wanderlust that songwriter Ian Tyson was able to create in his original melody.
