I knew I wanted to do a cover of this song the moment I clicked on the play button of the YouTube video of Chris Martin and Coldplay performing the song live on stage. The driving beat and melody line made it a natural for one of my cover treatments. In my version, though, I use brass and an organ to carry the melody, while a guitar, piano, and bass drive the background chords, along with a group of percussion instruments.
